GIVING DIRECTIONS IN THE CITY

In this entry we are going to practice speaking and listening skills. The student will make the following questions to their partner and the other child will answer him. Excuse me, how do I get to...? Excuse me, is there a... near here? Excuse me, where is the...? Excuse me, can you tell me the way to...? Everybody will have the map to answer the questions. HELPFUL VOCABULARY  

WHEELS ON THE BUS SONG

In this entry we are going to practice listening and writing skills. The students will listen the "bus song" and fill in the gaps with an appropriate word at the same time. PLACES IN TOWN

In this entry we are going to practice vocabulary and writing skills. The first activity is a crossword and the second is a  word-search.  1. COMPLETE THE FOLLOWING CROSSWORD ABOUT PLACES IN TOWN. 2. WHAT CAN YOU FIND IN A CLOTHING SHOP? Our children have to find in the word-search different clothes.

DRAWING MAPS

In this entry we are going to practice speaking and listening skills. Our students are going to do this activity in pairs. One child will have map A and the other will have map B. A B One child will describe his map to his partner and the other one will have to draw it in a white paper, when he finishes they will check it together. Later it will be the turn of the second student. 

CITY MAP

In this entry we are going to practice reading skill.   Our students have to follow the instructions and answer 10 questions we have prepared for them!  1. Color the map as follows: Blue -water, Red -fire station,   Orange - museums, Yellow -stadium, Green -parks, Pink -city hall, Purple -hospital, Brown -cemetery.  2. Draw a green "X" at the intersection of C Street and 6th Avenue. Draw a black "X" where River Street meets State Bridge. Draw a blue "X" at the address 650 A St. 3.  In red ,  draw a short street route from the library to city hall.  4. Which bridge is closest to the Art Museum? 5. Which is farther north, River Park or City Park? 6. How far (in miles) is it from the bus station to the hospital? 7. If you cross Denny Bridge going north, turn right at River St., turn left at Grove Ave., turn right at Oak St. and walk half a block, what building do you see on your right? 8. What park is located
